The short version: Little Bird does its listening entirely on your iPhone. Your baby's sounds are analyzed live, in the moment, and are never recorded, stored, or sent anywhere. There is no account, no cloud, and no tracking.
On-device audio, never recorded
Cry detection uses on-device sound recognition. Microphone audio is processed in real time on your device to recognize crying, then immediately discarded. Little Bird does not create recordings, save audio files, or keep a history of sound. There is nothing to upload, and nothing that could be intercepted.
No account, no cloud
Little Bird works without an account, sign-in, or internet connection. We operate no servers that receive your data, and the app functions fully offline — even in Airplane Mode. Because nothing leaves your device, there is no cloud copy of your information for anyone to access.
Data stored on your device
The information you provide — your baby's name, chosen theme, and detection settings — and your Sleep History (session times and cry timestamps) are stored locally on your iPhone. This data stays on your device and your encrypted device backups. You can erase all of it at any time by deleting the app.

Permissions
Little Bird asks for microphone access to listen for crying, and for notification and Apple Watch access to deliver alerts. These permissions are used solely to provide monitoring. You can review or revoke them anytime in iOS Settings.
No tracking or advertising
Little Bird contains no analytics SDKs, no advertising, and no third-party trackers. We do not build a profile of you, and we have no data to sell because we never collect it.
Children's privacy
Little Bird is designed for parents and caregivers. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children, and because all processing stays on your device, no information about your child is transmitted to us or anyone else.
